Debbie Fowler along with prevention specialist Debbie Baker-Miller will provide detailed information along with tips on how to keep youth drug free.  The PowerPoint presentation contains detailed pictures and critical information about each drug.

Kids Against Drug Use ©

Substance Abuse Prevention Game:
   - Designed for students in grades 5 thru 12
   - Dispels myths concerning current illegal drugs and their use
   - Utilizes thought-provoking/open-ended questions to stimulate
     discussion
   - Addresses issues such as the pervasive effects of drug use
   - Broadens students' understanding of the short and long term
     effects of drugs
   - Encourages students to learn while having fun at the same
     time
   - Students with the most points are given board games as  
     prizes to encourage family interaction at home
   - Every child is given a packet of detailed resource information
   - KADU is modified and adapted to meet the development  
     stage of students
   - Facilitated by Remembering ADAM's Prevention Specialist

   - Develops team skills
   - Builds self-esteem as students are given success-oriented
     tasks to complete
   - Improves communication skills
   - Enriches student interaction skills
   - Refines the ability to follow direction
   - Gives opportunity to practice self-control

A pre and post test is given to each student as a means to measure the degree of learning as a result of playing KADU.  Remembering ADAM analyzes the tests along with the information provided by the students.  A detailed written report is then sent back to the contact person identifying the strengths and weaknesses the students possess in the areas of substance abuse.
